Description
These tapes document a series of seminars held at The Huntington Library to examine the state of the art of women's studies. Specialists from many different disciplines delve into topics related to women's studies. The seminars were well-attended and attracted between 75 to 149 people, revealing a deep interest in the topic of women's studies. The featured speaker for this seminar is Octavia E. Butler, the preeminent science fiction writer. Octavia E. Butler's topic is titled "Speculative Fiction". Other speakers include Sue E. Houchins, Sara S. Hodson, J'Nan M. Sellery and Agnes Jackson.
