The Citizen's Freedom Foundation (CFF) was founded in the wake of the 1978 Jonestown mass murder-suicide, and was run for a time by Patricia Ryan, the daughter of U.S. Congressman Leo J. Ryan who died from gunfire while investigating conditions at the Jonestown cult compound in Guyana. It later became known as the Cult Awareness Network (CAN), and later "The Leo J Ryan Educational Foundation."
Members of the Citizen's Freedom Foundation hold a candlelight vigil outside the post office on Wilcox in Hollywood.
