Photograph shows Susanne Wilson, the former YWCA President. She is wearing a blue suit with a corsage pinned to it and carrying a folder. Photograph is of Susanne (Susie) Wilson, former YWCA President. On verso: "Sep 1988." 1. Susanne B. Wilson served as YWCA president from 1967 to 1970, which was a turning point for her. In 1973 she became a San Jose City Council woman and became Vice Mayor. She then spent 12 years on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, rising to Chairwoman. She never forgot the YWCA and in the mid-1980s Wilson helped spark the new headquarters and residence downtown, and drove the multimillion-dollar campaign to build it.
