Description
Photograph of a fire at an unidentified oil refinery, ca.1940. Rows of metal barrels of oil stand on the left while a long structure burns in a massive fire on the right. The barrels which stand along the walls of the burning structure appear to be unharmed while the other supplies as well as the walls and ceiling are disintegrating. A large cloud of dark smoke rises from the flames on top, obstructing the view of the tall, cylindrical structure in the background on at center.
