Description
This is a photograph of Fr. Langley praying at the grave site during a funeral.There are many people standing around the grave. Some are carrying poles and umbrellas to shield them from the sun. In the distance one can see rice fields.
Born in Maine, Fr. Langley came to Maryknoll in 1926 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1937. He was assigned to work in Wuchow, China until 1951 when he was jailed by the communists. He was released in 1952 and returned to the United States to do promotion work. H was assigned to Hawaii and chaplain of Thule Air Base in Greenland.
