Description
Front: Aerial view of a gas collection tower. There are words, numbers and symbols on the roof of the tank providing directions and information for pilots flying overhead. The towers were located along Edmonson Alley, between Fair Oaks and Raymond, just north of Glenarm St. The arrow reading "Grand Central" refers to the Burbank airport. This gas collection tower was located between Fair Oaks Blvd. and Raymond Ave. The larger of the two gas towers provided gas for the entire city of Pasadena. Reverse: There is a stamp in the lower left corner from the Southern California Gas Company. Stamp reads: "Southern California Gas Company / Advertising Dept. / Photo Section / 810 S. Flower St., Los Angeles, Calif. / When ordering additional prints, please refer to the following negative number: / Neg. #Pub-4-GH / Date: 2-7-48". The reverse is also marked in pencil: "Sid Gally / 2-1-02"
