Description
Two women in Parisian fashions for 1829. The woman on the left has braided and curled hair adorned with pink roses and strands of pearls. She wears dangling, spherical earrings. Her dress is off the shoulder with long, puffed sleeves that are sheer to the wrist. The top puff is white with vertical stripes of pink ribbons and the lower puff is sheer and plain white. The cuffs are gold with zigzag edges. A gold ornament with three teardrops hangs at the neck. The neck is made up of white, ruched, and gathered fabric. The rest of the bodice is pink with the center front seam detailed with trim. The bodice come to a "V" below her waist and two white tassels hang from the point. The skirt of her dress is white with wide, pink stripes running vertically from bodice to hem. She wears a pair of white ballet slippers with a bow over white stockings. In her gloved hands she holds a cream colored fan. The woman to the right sits with her back to the viewer. Pink roses and strands of pearls adorn her braided and curled up-do. Her dress has double-puff sleeves and v-shaped bodice. The neck is made of white, ruched fabric. The bodice, skirt, and puff sleeves are all the same teal blue color. The lower part of her sleeves is sheer white. She sits on a stool with a deep red cushion, with white and gold fringe. The legs of the stool are in the style of a Savonarola chair.
