Description
Photograph of two young Yuma Indian men playing the pole and hoop game -- a gambling game of skill, ca.1900. They run outside on a bare patch of ground holding poles each about 20 feet long. A crowd of about 20 onlookers watch from left near a native wood, mud and thatched dwelling. A wagon, corral, and other buildings are in the background at right.
