Originally named Holy Family Adoption Service, the agency was established to help find permanent adoptive homes for orphaned and at risk youth, and for infant children whose mothers could no longer care for them. Photograph caption dated March 16, 1959 reads "Mmes. Bob Hope of Toluca Lake, left, and Marshall Kester go over plans for March 17 premiere of 'Alias Jesse James' in Westwood Village which stars Bob Hope. Assisting is William Higgins of Van Nuys, board member of Holy Family Adoption Service which will benefit from event."
