Description
Image of vignettes of elevation views of the sides steam fire engines, fire hose trucks, and related firefighting vehicles with a central image of a steam fire engine with red wagon wheels labeled "Brooklyn 10" and "B F D 10" with city buildings in the background, and surrounding vignettes of nine vehicles including one steam engine labeled "Arba Read," one with two men standing next to it, another with a man in a top hat and firefighter's cape that reads "Amoskeag"; the borders of the vignettes are decorated with firefighting equipment including ladders, hoses, speaking trumpets, hats, torches, lanterns, and a firefighter blowing into a trumpet.
Probable artist supplied by cataloger based on printer and artist histories; probable date supplied by cataloger based on general printer's history; Crosby & Co. operated from 46 Water St. until a fire in 1872. "Chas. H. Crosby & Co. Lith, 46 Water St. Boston."--text, bottom center margin. "Wm. Amory. Treas. / 60 State St. Boston, Mass"--text, bottom left margin. "E.A. Straw, Agent. / Manchester N.H."--text, bottom right margin.
