Redwood 60 inch mother stump and group of 16-year-old sprouts, 1/2 mile south of road to Holmes Flat, Redwood Highway, Humboldt County, California. Seventeen sprouts are over 6" in diam. At top of stump. A smaller mother stump to left. The entire group of living sprouts slid off bank to roadside. The large roots (over 6") showing in bank were alive. E. F. July 25, 1932
