Dearden's was the department store that replaced this residence.
Photograph caption dated January 4, 1951 reads, "Home of W. P. Whitsett, 6615 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, is being torn down by workmen. Old Valley landmark was erected in 1913--one of first on Van Nuys Blvd. Big new department store will be constructed at location."
