Description
Photograph of a Northrop Snark SM62 launching, ca.1950. At center, a large darkly-colored rocket jet is seen taking off. A long lightly-colored strip is visible along the body of the rocket. Beneath the wings, two lightly-colored, cylindrical canisters are clearly visible. Smoke and flame are seen emitted from these canisters. On the right side of the plane, another pointed, cylindrical object lies adjacent to the canister beneath the wing. In the foreground, a metallic ramp and stairwell can be seen. To the left, a short, striped pole stands on the edge of a grassy field. In the background, plumes of smoke obscure the tail of the plane.
