Description
Photograph shows Quincy Railroad surveyors. Photo taken at the Hartwell house at the junction of Chandler and Quincy Junction Roads. The house is still standing. Front row, left to right: F. M. Robinson, Orr, B. A. Taylor, J. Neff. Back row, left to right: Craft (Kraft?), Sain, McFarland, Bates, Richards, Louie Peterson. The Quincy Railroad began 1908 and finished 1910. Hartwell Station was the connection to the Western Pacific Railroad from Quincy, earlier called Marston, a portion of the Hartwell Ranch. Photograph property of J. R. Atkins, 9-1-69.
