Description
2002-0061. View of miniature locomotive "Midget" pulling four open cars with children and adults. Addressed to Mr. Roy Ogden, Penryn, Calif. Within Oak Park development in 1889, Central Street Railway formed eight-acre picnic and entertainment park in old oak grove. In 1903, added new features, including miniature railroad. In 1911, under new management, park renamed Joyland, in 1927 renamed James McClatchy park upon gift of park to the city by Mr. and Mrs. Valentine McClatchy.
