The extensive portfolio of photographic artist Carol Westwood (1942-2011), a native New Yorker who lived in Los Angeles for many years, includes a diverse array of subjects: animals, nudes, American and European cities, and portraits. Additionally, she worked on special and still photography for numerous motion picture and television productions in Hollywood; the archive of her entertainment and celebrity images was distributed internationally by Gamma, Liaison International, Stone Images, and Getty images from 1988-2003. The first police patrol cars are seen spearheading security for Los Angeles Marathon sponsors, including Mercedes Benz, as they travel south on Rossmore Avenue in the rain. The large apartment building in the background is the Ravenswood. Photograph dated March, 1995. Opened in 1928 at 570 N. Rossmore Avenue, the seven-story Art Deco Ravenswood apartment building was a popular address for celebrities during the golden age of Hollywood and is a Los Angeles Historical-Cultural Monument.
