Photograph caption dated February 9, 1957 reads, "Pat McKillip, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McKillip, Sylmar, took over as San Fernando's postmaster in observance of Boy Scout Week. G. R. Gillaspie, standing, observes canceling machine technique of Pat, who, despite crutches, manages to operate the machine without a hitch. Pat suffered broken leg in an accident which took the life of Walter Warloe, his Scoutmaster."
