Description
Portrait of a locomotive named after Thedore Judah. "Thedore Judah was honored by the Central Pacific when the company named their locomotive no.4 for him. The locomotive was built by D. Cook & Co. in 1864 and shipped from the East Coast around Cape Horn on a sailing ship. It weighed 39,000 lbs. and was approximately 30 feet long. It was similar to the "C.P. Huntinton" (now display at the Sacramento Railroad Museum). They were among the two smallest engines operated by C.P. Unfortunately, the "T.D. Judah" did not survive to be in a museum." Thedore Judah
