Description
While the public education that Black students receive in the United States is not as overtly discriminatory as in South Africa, there are serious problems. In this program teachers from the Los Angeles Unified School District, Black educators, students and citizens discuss the education or lack of it that Black students receive. They also discuss how it affects the self-image that Blacks have, the historical development of the education of Blacks in this country, and the how the system stifles who you are. Produced by Sylvester Rivers for KPFK.
