Photograph of United States battleship USS Mohigan in Corintho, Nicaragua, 1886-1887. At center, the large ship is seen moving through the water. Several square hatches can be seen along the hull of the ship. On the right, an external rudder is visible at the stern of the ship. From right to left, guardrails are visible along the ship's deck. On the left, the ship's bow is curved, and a section of wood extends beyond the ship's frame. At center, a small smokestack is visible atop a small rectangular platform. Two large masts are visible to the left of the smokestack, and another mast is seen to the right. Several ropes are visible connecting the masts to various parts of the ship. In the background to the left, the bow and hull of another ship is visible. In the extreme background, a shoreline is seen.
