Description

Photograph article dated March 11, 1965 partially reads, "Violence erupted in civil rights demonstrations at the Los Angeles Federal Building yesterday with U.S. marshals arresting 98 sit-inners who defied orders to stop blocking driveways and doorways. Barricades of bodies kept the Federal Building closed from noon until 5 p.m. when the final arrests were made. This was the largest number of arrests ever made in a Los Angeles civil rights demonstration." This was taken at the United States Court House and Post Office, located at 312 North Spring Street.; See images #00113380 through #00113382 for all photos in this series.
