Image of the interior view under the East Nave of the Crystal Palace exhibition building for the Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations in New York, New York, in 1853-1854; people walk through the galleries and admire the sculptures on display; 25 named directors and their offices are listed below image.
"Carstensen & Gildmeister Architects, 74 Broadway N.Y. : Entered, according to Act of Congress in the year 1853 by M. Knoedler in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York. : Lithography of Nagel & Weingaertner 143 Fulton St. N.Y."--text, bottom margin. "Executed by Th. Benecke & A. Weingaertner."--text, artists' signature on stone, bottom right of image. "This building, constructed of Iron and Glass, was erected on Reservoir Square in the City of New York ... The exhibition was inaugurated by the President of the United States on the 14th day of July 1853. ... New York, Published by Goupil & Co. 366 Broadway. / The Exhibition continues open during the year 1854."--text, bottom margin.
