Caption on album page: "Clothing allowances for necessary apparel for evacuees were authorized, ranging from $2.25 per month for infants up to one year, to $3.82 for adult males and $4.61 for adult females, with a maximum of $16.03 for a family of five. Photos shows evacuees signing up for clothing issue at Fresno (California) Assembly Center." SIGNAL CORPS PHOTO 9SVC-42-3405-PSF. The War Relocation Authority (WRA), together with the Wartime Civil Control Administration (WCCA), the Civil Affairs Division (CAD) and the Office of the Commanding General (OFG) of the Western Defense Command (WDC) operated together to segregate and house some 110,000 men women and children from 1942 to 1945. The collection contains documents and photographs relating to the establishment and administrative workings of the (WDC), the (WRA) and the (WCCA) for the year 1942.
