Description: With some assistance, a soldier marks his duffle bag with name and service number using a template before shipping out to Korea. This photo is part of a series documenting Williams’ shipping out to Korea. The journey started here at Camp Stoneman in Pittsburg, California, where a ferry would carried troops to San Francisco and continued on the USS General M. C. Meigs for the two-week voyage to Japan, and then on to Korea.
