The "Castle" was a large Queen Anne style house built around 1882 and once owned by Daniel Donegan. It was Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #27.; Built in the 1880s, the "Salt Box" was Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #5.; In March 1969, both structures were relocated to Heritage Square, but seven months later, they were invaded by vandals and burned to the ground. Two residences, known as the "Castle" and the "Salt Box" on Bunker Hill are nearly dwarfed by the Union Bank Building behind them. Parking for trucks and cars is in front of them. This scene was re-photographed by Reagh in 1989, negative # A-004-274 4x5.
