Portrait of Arch Oboler (1909-1987), scriptwriter, novelist, producer director and an active presence in film, radio and television. Oboler has just produced the 1951 thriller "Five," which has been shocking audiences at theatres. It tells the story of how the world is destroyed in a nuclear holocaust and only five Americans survive. "Five" was filmed at Oboler's own Frank Lloyd Wright designed house and was later nominated in the category of Best Written American Low-Budget film. Photo dated: September 8, 1951.
