Photo looking west over the lake at Westlake park. Dotted lines show where Wilshire Blvd. extension will curve across the north side of the lake. Caption reads, "Photo shows Westlake Park partially drained and progress to date on the dirt fill that will carry Wilshire Boulevard through the park, eliminating the necessity for motorists to drive around...photo looks west with the Los Angeles Elks' temple pictured at the right. Completion of the dirt fill will connect the downtown district by main artery with the beach district." Photo dated: May 22, 1934.
