Description
Photograph of a creek scene in San Jose, California, ca.1900. Small rocks make the bank on the right in the foreground with what appears to be a tree stump in the water just to the left. The bright sky is reflected in the slight ripples in the creek which is enclosed by tall grass that drapes over the edges. Further back, the bank slopes up to large trees on the right and several wooden buildings on the left. The two sides are connected by a short bridge that extends over the creek at center and supports several people as well as their horses and carriages.
