Description
Photograph caption dated July 23, 1959 reads, "John Tropea, right, president of Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce, accepts check from Earl Hoagland, center, first of retail merchants in area to buy pictured angels, replicas of 54 12 1/2-foot angels to adorn Van Nuys boulevard at Christmas time. James Moran, assistant to Supervisor Warren Dorn and secretary of Bethlehem Star Parade Association, looks on as Hoagland, of Hoagland's Furniture, 14550 Victory Blvd., buys 100 angels to be re-sold to public for home decorations. Merchants may order replica angels from Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce."
