First photograph caption dated December 21, 1949 reads, "... many a fluttering heart is Lady Ashley with ... Gable the Charmer." Gable and Ashley eloped at Alisal Ranch in Solvang on December 20, 1949.; Photograph also used for an article dated December 30, 1952; it reads, " Clark Gable and ex-Lady Sylvia Ashley. It was fourth marriage for each; she got divorce."
