In a perfectly closed fence made with batik, members of the Nya society meet the days of dance they are in charge to give the rythm with theirs instruments (drums, kuefos, iron bells). The dance takes place on the big square where they are in the middle. The surroundings of the fence is protected by servants who wear a veil and who forbid any approach (the one who penetrates could die). From 1945 to 1959, Daniel Broussous was the head doctor of the protestant hospital of Bangwa, set up by the Société des missions évangéliques de Paris (Paris evangelical mission society) in the south of the region Bamileke in 1935. Broussous took many photographs documenting the art, the architecture, the traditions and the daily-life of Bamileke chieftainships. He also made several films.
