Title supplied by cataloger.; Image marked up for publication. A two-year game of hide-and-seek between a husband and his divorced wife ended in Domestic Relations Court on November 26, 1947, when Sumner C. Bryant, a non-practicing corporation attorney who had disappeared with his daughter Susan Claire, now 3, was arrested. Mr. Sumner had taken young Susan from her mother, Mrs. Sarah Bryant, on Dec. 1, 1945, and had "hid" the child in Chandler, Arizona, where friends of his were living at the time. The child was eventually returned safely to her mother, who had been given sole custody, and Mr. Bryant was released from jail soon after. Photograph caption dated December 4, 1947 reads, "Mrs. Sarah Bryant And Daughter Susan Separated for Two Years, They Finally Are Reunited Again After Child Is Found in Arizona."
