Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated May 3, 1961 reads, "Leslie Diane Pollack, 8, left, jumped into a swimming pool Tuesday and saved 3-year-old Douglas Allen Kunnel, Laguna Beach, while they and their parents visited at 6231 Colbath Ave., Van Nuys. Douglas reached into the pool for a toy he had dropped, and lost his balance. Leslie, a Brownie, leaped into the water wearing her dress and shoes. She towed him 25 feet to the shallow end of the pool. Afterwards she told her mother, Mrs. William M. Pollack, 4632 Atoll Ave., Sherman Oaks, above, that her feat was nothing - but she was upset because her hair was all wet and 'my shoes are soaked.' Douglas was unharmed."
