Description
Photograph caption dated April 8, 1964 reads, "SNAP 10A, lightweight system to generate electricity by nuclear energy, has passed "dry critical" test of its atomic reactor. The system is being developed by Atomics International of Canoga Park for use in space. The "dry critical" experiment was first in a series of ground tests for the unit."
