Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Buddy Rogers was an American actor and jazz musician.
Photograph caption dated November 26, 1936 reads "At smart Hollywood Thanksgiving dinner tables today, main topic of conversation was the brilliant premiere of 'Lloyds of London' at Carthay Circle theater. Mary Pickford, America's sweetheart, is shown arriving with her fiance, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers."
