Title supplied by cataloger. The Festival of Masks was created in the mid-1970s by the Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) to celebrate the diverse heritage of Los Angeles and to provide an arena for cross-cultural exchange. The 10th Annual Festival was held on October 25-26, 1986 and was solely produced by CAFAM. The festival parade, running down Wilshire Boulevard from Crescent Heights Boulevard to Curson Avenue on the second day of the two-day event, featured 50 marching bands, school groups, musicians, and performers, with a total of around 2,000 marchers participating. A group of 'cavemen' perform in the 1986 Festival of Masks parade on Wilshire Boulevard. They are joined by their man-made dinosaur skeleton (upper right).
