Photograph article dated July 30, 1954 partially reads, "Marie Howerton, 41, Lancaster housewife whose husband stabbed her because she was watching television instead of preparing his supper, is reported in improved condition today at Lancaster Community Hospital. Her husband Lawrence, 33, a refrigerator repairman, is being held in Lancaster Sheriff's jail on suspicion of assault with intent to commit murder. Sheriff Sgt. Joseph W. Campbell said he would seek a complaint, 'whether or not Mrs. Howerton wants to prosecute,' The Howerton's live at 110th St. East and Ave. H." Photograph caption reads, "Stabbing cause - Unused stove in his Lancaster home so infuriated Lawrence Howerton, 33, he allegedly stabbed his wife Marie, 41, who was watching television when he returned from work for dinner.
