Photograph caption dated April 20, 1956 reads, "Palmdale Irrigation District Reservoir supplies rapidly expanding population in Antelope Valley, last large undeveloped area in Los Angeles County. Reservoir can store three billion gallons, gets supply from nearby Littlerock Dam. Engineers say Valley has abundant resources from wells and mountain runoff despite consumption which increased from 10,000,000 cu. ft. in the last half of 1943 to 91,000,00 in the same period of 1955."; See images #00116668 through #00116673 for all photos in this series.
