Description
Photograph of the front of a silver processional crucifix at Mission San Carlos, Monterey, ca.1900. The figure of Christ looks down to his right. Stylized flames, drops, or leaves radiate from the intersection of the vertical and horizontal arms of the cross. A rosette appears at the center. The ends are each shaped like three intersecting arcs. The cross is on a stand and a stone wall is behind the cross. At the presidio chapel. Photoprint reads: "Born before the sainted Serra".
