"It is perhaps quite natural, that one of the very first things the visitor does is to make the somewhat thrilling journey by it to the higher levels. At the time this is written, a new electrically driven plant is being installed which is to supersede the now out-of-date steam powered machinery. Larger cars are also being constructed, while an additional system is proposed for the Eastern district of the Peak."
