Photograph caption dated April 30, 1959 reads, "Television actress Verna Felton, who will be honorary fire chief at open house to be sponsored Saturday by Engine Co. 28, receives fire ax from Capt. Girard M. Anear. Open house will feature displays of city's oldest fire apparatus, left, 1881 steamer driven by Herbert M. Krumsiek, assistant chief, Valley division."
