Abba Eban discusses his book, “The New Diplomacy: International Affairs in the Modern Age.” Eban talks about the United States’ history of detachment and says that America fears nuclear war and Europe fears both nuclear war and invasion. He also says that the United Nations is an arena for waging conflicts and that diplomacy is needed when there is conflict. Eban goes on to talk about the Palestinian problem, criticism, diversity and dissent, governing by fear, and Egypt.
