Photograph of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Building, on Broadway between First Street and Second Street, ca.1901-1911. The cornerstone was laid on 28 May 1903. The 7-story brick and stone building has an American flag flying from the roof and a fire escape down the right front of the structure. There are commercial establishments on the ground floor. A man stands on the sidewalk looking into a store front. A bicycle is parked along the curb. Street car rails are visible in the street.
