Photograph of a group of Hopi children, maidens, a married woman and a man, Arizona, ca.1898. Six maidens stand between their father, who can be seen at the far left, and mother visible at the far right. Six small children sit on the ground in front. The maidens wear identical dresses with some necklaces. They also wear their hair in flat buns on each side of their heads. The children wear dresses as well. The father wears a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and moccasins. The mother wears a dress with a shawl over her shoulders. Behind the group is an adobe house front with exposed rafter tails.
