Exterior view of the Spanish Baroque style Peninsula Theatre, located at 1415 Burlingame Avenue in Burlingame. The marquee advertises that the theater sells war bonds and encourages people to purchase them there. Two young children appear to be entering the theater on the right. At the time this photograph was taken, the theater was showing the 1945 film "Blood on the Sun" starring James Cagney. This theater originally opened as the Peninsula Theatre on October 12 1926, but was later renamed the Fox Burlingame Theatre. It closed in 1974 and was razed in 1975 to make way for a shopping center. Architects: William Day and Charles P. Weeks.
