Description
Color: Blue Red White "Air Travel News," 1928 June, volume 2, number 6. The 32-page periodical has a front cover with fields of blue and red and red, white, and blue stripes which are at angles. The journal title and month and year are at the top. At the center is a photograph of Elizabeth Warner, a female pilot sitting on the outside of the cockpit of her plane. At the bottom are the copy price and a list of a couple of features from the issue in a white rectangular field. Articles include topics such as aviation shows records expected to be broken during the year the 1928 National Air Tour an engine to be used by Arctic explorer Richard E. Byrd the use of airplanes by journalists pieces on specific flights, including one by another Arctic explorer the promotion of aviation in America the use of aviation by business and flying clubs. There are many advertisements related to aviation and a number offering books and other publications by the publisher of Air Travel News. With minor spine abrasions a few small cover creases light surface soiling on the back a few minor cover stains and a small tear at the front right edge, the artifact is in good condition.
