Description
Photograph of the pouring of foundation for housing tracts, 1958. To the left of center, a man wearing a lightly colored t-shirt and pants uses his arm strength to control the cement that pours out of the long spout of a cement truck. He uses a rectangular shovel with a short handle to push the cement down. The back of the cement truck is visible on the right while wooden planks can be seen extending out of the dirt in the foreground. A second cement truck with its front facing the viewer sits to the left while three men can be seen standing between wooden planks that create short walls in the background. Photoprint reads: "Reliable Concrete Masonry Contractors, Sub-Contractor. Foundations for housing tracts, southwest corner of Leffingwell Road & Luitwieler Avenue in the Norwalk, Downey, la Mirada area, for Monarch Gardens, Quality Development & La Mirada Gardens. Robert Williams, Architect McIntire & Quiros, Engineers".
