Photograph caption dated July 16, 1956 reads, "Desmond Slattery, left, talks earnestly to Jim Moran, secretary-manager of Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce as he tries to sell Moran on utility of 15,000 fireflies. According to Slattery, they will not only solve snail problem but prove invaluable in electronics research."
