Description
Photograph caption reads: "Chamber of Commerce President Earl Erne greets Ballets Africans [sic]". The Guinea dance company, Les Ballets Africains, was invited by Mr. and Mrs. Alvano Dean to tour Pacoima and attend a reception at their house. The dancers' costumes had provoked a civic storm after a performance at the Biltmore. Photograph dated: Feb. 17, 1961.
