Description
Photograph of a supervisor and worker at the General Telephone Company test panel, ca.1940. To the left of center, a man sits on a stool wearing a lightly colored checkered pattern shirt with darkly colored trousers and what appear to be suede shoes. The man opens his mouth as he looks at the test panel in front of him. To his left, a man stands looking down wearing a jacket and tie. The panel in front of the men has rows of dots of different colors with levers at the bottom and circular gages beneath that. To the bottom right, two machines, that look like movie reels, sit on tables below the panel. Photoprint reads: "Test panel at West Los Angeles Exchange, by means of lights and audible signals this panel reports faults in extended area dialing equipment and designates their location".
